Press statement

[20.Jun.2015 - 22:50]

The press statement by the Federation of Afghanistan's Civil Societies (FACS) on the issue of Wolasi Jirga (the Lower House of Afghan Parliament)

As according to the constitution of Afghanistan Sunday June 21, 2015 is the last working day of Wolasi Jirga, and imposing them selectively is against the constitution & all the laws of the country, so the parliamentary elections are to be organized on immediate bases. FACS states that the delay of the elections is the fault of the very weak leaderships & the poor management of the so called National Unity Government & the Independent Election Commission & they must pay the price not the nation.

The statement calls upon the so called National Unity Government not to impose the current MPs on the bereaved nation as the selected ones anymore, otherwise the nation will stand against and close the doors of the parliament, call & campaign for a broad based boycott with the government, stop paying any kind of taxes and start establishing parallel institution for insuring the implementation of laws, protecting their lives, security, economy, health, educational & cultural benefits & the national interests.

The FACS statement talks about the 5 years old background of the current Wolasi Jirga as most of the members gained the seats through corruption during the unfair,  fraudulent elections in 2010 led by the corrupt IEC Chairman Mullah Fazl Ahmad Manawi, as due to the broad based frauds the civil resistance started by more than 2000 candidates of WJ, so that the special court was assigned by president Karzai. The court had ordered the replacement of 63 corrupt MPs, but Karzai still have not implemented the court order.

The statement also says that most of the current MPs during their 5 years of presence have just enjoyed the political, security & economical insurance & were always absent leaving the seats vacuumed during the very important meetings of the jirga & kept busy with their personal businesses, but the seats were occupied whenever there were their personal interests, so they neither could result in changing the lives of the people nor could help in insuring peace, security, stability or political, economical, cultural & educational growth in the country, but in their presence billions of US$ were looted by some of the government & national & international NGOs high rank officials & contractors.

The statement also calls the MPs failed in forceful implementation of laws, monitoring the government & the national & international organizations in various fields of work, so imposing them against the orders of the constitution is a great crime against the nation & the constitution, & a huge economical burden on the national treasure
