Bruce Richardson: A Truth Seeker and a Credit to Journalism: He will be missed

We are saddened by the news that an old friend of Afghanistan, Bruce G Richardson has passed away. He will be missed and his passing is considered a massive loss in the search for truth and justice.
Bruce was in search of truth in journalism. He produced meticulous research on the invasions of Afghanistan by two superpowers: the Soviet invasion in December of 1979 followed by the U.S. invasion in October of 2001. He also, exposed fake “heroes of resistance”, elevated to prominence by forces outside to Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion, especially Ahmad Shah Massoud and his complicity with the Soviet Forces. Scores of honest people will miss him because Bruce was a friend of honest people, honest journalists, honest researchers and honest patriots. Bruce loved his country (USA), as would any other true patriot; however, he did not want truth to be the victim of artificial patriotism.
Bruce’s dedication to peace, economic and political justice, progress, free cooperation among independent nations was felt in his writings. In a sentence: the world shall belong to people, not the other way around.
His last book published was: Afghanistan: A Search for Truth. Fourth Revised Edition. Free Forum Publications/New York-Freeport-London. Printed in Canada, 2009. Major parts of the book are: 1. Afghanistan-History-Soviet Occupation-Ahmad Shah Massoud: 1779-1989; 2. Afghanistan-History-2001-U.S. Occupation-World Power Rivalry; and 3. Afghanistan-Current Affairs-2001-2008. 456 pages.
Bruce was a jewel of journalism, a truth seeker par excellence. We believe it would be appropriate to suggest that the department of journalism at Kabul University should be named after Bruce G. Richardson.
