Achakzai for parliamentary democratic system in country
[04.Nov.2008 - 12:35]04.11.2008 - Quetta: Convener All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) and Chairman Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), Mehmoud Khan Achakzai has stressed the need to run the country under a democratic parliamentary system urging the rulers to take all stakeholders into confidence on matters of the national interests. The PkMAP chief called on he government to convene a roundtable conference of all the political parties to have a consensus over the national issues. It would be tantamount to playing with the fate of the country if they (the rulers) do not seek the opinion of the people for solution to the issues facing the country, said Achakzai. It is time we spoke truth, as telling a lie is not going to serve an purpose, rather it would harm the country, asserted Mehmoud Khan Achakzai. Achakzai was addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Sunday. Mehmoud Khan Achakzai noted with great concern that thee kitty of the country was going empty with every passing day and the entire system of the country was in poor state while the entire region from Bajaur to Soutyh Waziristan was in the war trap. Only after addressing these issues can we steer the country out of the current miserable situation, he maintained. Referring to the imposition of emergency on November 3, last yearthe APDM convener said no one would be insulted if the pre-November 3, 2007 judiciary ws restored fully. He said it must be restored within no time. Achakzai said it would be a mockery if the pre-November 3 judges were administered a fresh oath before restoration s government had done so in case of some of the judges.
