Khan Shaheed Remembered in London

London: Commemorating the 35th anniversary of great Pakhtoon nationalist leader Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Achakzai in United Kingdom, Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) organized a program in Barclay Hall London .
This program has been considered a big Pakhtoon political activity in the London in which hundreds of political and social activists and intellectuals belonging to different Pakhtoon political groups of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Highlighting the services of Khan Shaheed in different walks of life including politics, journalism, social work and linguistics, the speakers paid homage to his personality and discussed his role in the Pakhtoon national movement. The speakers said that Khan Shaheed was imprisoned for 35 years in the jails of British Imperialists in united India and then of Pakistan just for struggling for the rights of Pakhtoon in special and downtrodden nations in general. >From the platform of Congress to the Pakhtoonkhwa National Awami Party, his role, political thoughts and sacrifices was argued by the noted speakers in the gathering. They also discussed the ongoing political issues facing by the Pakhtoon throughout the region including Afghanistan and Pakhtoon areas of Pakistan
In a joint resolution passed in the program, the participants demanded to : (1) 1-Stop the ongoing military operation in the Pakhtoon region including Swat and Bajour Agency, oust the foreign terrorists including Arabs and other non-Pakhtoons from the region and use the political dialogue and Jirga system to solve the issue of militancy in the region. (2) 2 - Unify the scattered Pakhtoon areas in the Pakistan, consisting the present province NWFP, the Pakhtoon districts of province Balochistan, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) and Attock and Miawali districts of province Punjab in one province and then name it Pakhtoonkhwa, Afghani or Pakhtoonistan. (3) 3 -Give complete control over the resources of the Pakthoon region to the people of the united province. (4) 4 -Device new social contract with Pakhtoon nation according to the resolution of 1940 which accept the equal rights of all nations. (5) 5 -End all amendment made during the dictatorship of Musharaf including 58-2 (b) and National Security Council and recover the real judiciary (6) 6-Register the case against Musharaf to break the constitution of Pakistan 7-Stop the interfering in the internal affairs of Afghanistan by the neighboring countries including Pakistan and Iran (7) 8-Declare MQM as a terrorist organization as it was involved in the massacre of Pakhtoon in the latest Karachi riots and compensate all the Pakhtoon effected families in this mishap.
The speakers include Sher Azam Khan, Falak Niaz Yousafzai, Ashraf Khan Hoti, Faiq Khan Yousafzai, Jamshed Bangash, Noorullah Atal, Dr Jamilur Rehman, Dr Amjad Ali, Yousaf Ali Khan, Habibullah Janibdar and Noor Wahab. In the end of program, a Musharia(poetic gathering) was held under presidentship of prominent Pashto poet Shahsawar Sangarwal in which noted poets paid homage to Khan Shaheed in their poetry.- Report by Zia Ur Rehman
