Taliban Introduced ´´Jihadi Crokery´´, in Swat Valley
[27.Dec.2008 - 12:03]PESHAWAR: After promoting their ´´cause´´, via high tech video and audio productions, Taliban in Swat valley have now embarked on a more unique and impressive style of marketing-manufacturing crokery with their popular Jihadi slogans.
Locals in Swat valley of North West Pakistan say that Taliban are manufacturing crockery and distributing them among local communities with their slogan of "Shariat Ya Shahadat", (Shariah or Martyrdom) inscribed on them.
One local told this scribe, on condition of anonymity that though the ´´Jihadi crokery´´, is not produced on large scale and there were only a few pieces available but the local communities took keen interest in using it.
´´This is very unique of Taliban militants to manufacture such high quality marketing products as commonly people think that Taliban can only use weapons and spread terror. See they have proved their creativity´´, he elaborated.
An official said that the ´´Jihadi crokery´´, recovered from Taliban bunkers when military dominated Najia Top during a military operation in the upper Swat valley last year.
´´There were also some Taliban flags, badges and pamphlets produced by Taliban to propagate their message of Jihad and luring locals to join their folds´´, he added.
It merits a mention here that earlier Taliban produced some good quality videos showing their activities and fighting with the military in the valley. Soon these CDs and DVDs flooded markets in Swat, Mardan, Peshawar and tribal areas of Pakistan.
They also manage unlicensed FM channels in many areas of North West Pakistan, where Taliban leaders speak about current national and international political affairs and eulogize the services of their fighters who are in conflict with the Pakistan security forces.
Propagating their message on kitchen utensils is the latest of Taliban marketing tools in the region.
